For our client, a specialised software consultancy in the central Netherlands, we are looking for a Senior Java Developer / Architect who combines hands-on development with architectural leadership on challenging assignments.

As Senior Java Developer / Architect you work on assignments at leading clients. You are a hands-on developer who also takes the lead in architecture and technical decision making, and you enjoy raising the bar for the teams you work in. What you will do: - Design and build high-quality software in the Java ecosystem, from modernising legacy applications to developing new microservices - Take ownership of architecture and guide technical decision making within the team - Coach and mentor less experienced developers and review their work - Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, meetups and experiments with new technology - Help shape best practices around clean code, testing and continuous delivery What you bring: - Five or more years of experience as a software engineer in the Java ecosystem - A completed technical education at bachelor or master level - Strong knowledge of frameworks such as Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, Micronaut or Quarkus - Experience with microservices, event driven architecture, APIs and REST - Hands-on experience with cloud technology such as Kubernetes, AWS, GCP or Azure - Experience with Kotlin is a plus - A curious mindset and the drive to keep developing yourself and share knowledge - You live in the Netherlands; visa sponsorship is not available What is offered: - A permanent contract with an excellent remuneration package and bonus scheme - A personal development budget and a growth plan you shape together with the leadership - Monthly team days to experiment with the latest technology - Hybrid working, travel allowance and free choice of hardware - Pension arrangement, extra holidays, corporate fitness and a health programme - An informal team culture with regular social events Interested in this position?
